War Hero:
A patriot willing to kill or be killed for trivial reasons.
Two quotes by Einstein, the greatest philosopher of all time:
';It still is murder if you kill for war';
';Wars will not stop until the people themselves refuse to kill';
True or false: McCain is not a hero for dropping bombs on innocent people. Vietnam did not attack the US.?
True. Napalm cannot distinguish between enemy combatants and everyone else. It's disgraceful that we invaded Vietnam, and even worse that we allowed the use of such ';weapons.'; Now McCain calls Bill Ayers a ';terrorist,'; but what McCain did in that era was unconscionable - a form of terrorism in itself. And Einstein had it right - we used to ask, ';What if they gave a war and nobody came?';True or false: McCain is not a hero for dropping bombs on innocent people. Vietnam did not attack the US.?
I respect his war record and service to our country. But I have never felt that McCain was a ';hero';. Lots and lots of Vietnam veterans went through the exact same thing, and now many of them are homeless on the streets, and I don't hear anyone calling them ';heros';.
McCain was in the military and he did his job and served his country, which is what our people in the military are supposed to do - and I fully appreciate the service of our military personnel. And the issue was not whether Vietnam attacked the U.S.; out militar people were called to serve and that's what they did. Period. That's the whole point of being in the military.
McCain was a POW - sucked for him, but he wasn't the only one. And most of the other POW's didn't come back to rich cushy lives and divorce their ailing wives and marry their wealthy mistresses and then become senators. There are a couple of other U.S. Congressmen who were also Vietnam Vets who were wounded who are not the smug douchebags that McCain is and who actually deal with the issues within their jurisdictions.
Hero is a very iffy word. It can apply to the fireman who rescues a child from a burning building to a soldier who charges a hill to a neighbor who feeds the homeless every day. McCain followed orders. He is a hero to the same extent that every other soldier who followed orders was in that ';Police action';.
Was this a justified war? Heck no! But it accomplished what we wanted by unintended consequences, namely by bankrupting the Soviet Union by keeping them fighting on many fronts. The same thing is being done to us today by Al Qaeda. Read their latest post if you don't believe me.
A dream of peace is always sweet, but until the whole world dreams it too, we will have to, in certain circumstances, continue to fight.
Even worse than attacking the US, the commies were taking over the world.
If you liberals try and equate that war with this one. Then your trying to relive your glory days where you got the US to stop fighting for the freedom of a people.
After we left 1.4 MILLION civilians were slaughtered, so who were the murders?
We protected those folks and they died because the liberals got their way. Lets not let that happen in the middle east.
Think of someone besides yourselves for once
Noboday ever called him a hero but himself.
True, but if he were to die and get killed for no other reason than his country sent him there, would that make him a hero?
fasle , mccain is not hero , he is murder hun
True. Think he went on sixteen missions before getting shots down.
Here is what it says on my motorcycle vest:
If you weren't there, shut up.
False.
