True or false: Most poor people are ';lazy'; and most wealthy people are ';hard-working';?

False. The Neo Cons like to make glittering generalization. The poor work for the rich, but the rich don't work too hard because most of their wealth is inherited and not earned.True or false: Most poor people are ';lazy'; and most wealthy people are ';hard-working';?
I guess people like you, Rosen, like to make glittering lies. Most millionaires did not inherit their wealth. Why don't you tell us where you got that information? Follow this link for some real information.

True or false: Most poor people are ';lazy'; and most wealthy people are ';hard-working';?
Not necessarily true.

What is true, is that people who are paid less offer less valued services. People who are paid more offer more highly valued services.

Poor can be very hard working in manual labor, and rich can be very lazy in a desk job. However, someone who labors all day gathering potatoes in the sun are only dealing with potatoes. Someone in a easy desk job, whos labor might consist of 10 seconds of thought and the manual labor of a pen stroke, may be dealing with a $10 billion transaction.

I may go out on a limb and say the poor who are struggling to do what is right, and earn a living, very well may be working the hardest. They may not be the brightest, no degree, maybe not even a GED, but they know they must provide for a family, so they take any hard job they can get to put food on the table.
I will agree that most rich people are very hard working (that does not include the trust fund babies that inherit their wealth form daddy).

But as to poor people most work very hard. I mean very hard work and very long back braking hours. They do not have the education or will power to ';use'; money properly to create wealth.

Beyond that there are lazy people that are naturally poor because of that trait. But drugs and other additions keep a lot of people poor.

Bye the way - it is not my fault and I should not be forced to pay for their additions!
Hard working people whose jobs provides them with food, shelter, simple pleasures in life, close family %26amp; friends, some advantages for their children, faith in God may not have a lot of money or luxuries but they are happy, content because their values are focused on the things that are the most gratifying in life. By the wealthy's standards they may be not have a lot of luxuries to leave when they die but they by no means feel poor.

The most poor are those whose greed for power, prestige, keeping up with the Jones's, envy to accumulate more stuff, whose life revolves around making money for more 'things' of no lasting value are the most miserable because greed knows no limit.

The lazy are poor because they are uneducated by choice, will do nothing to take advantage of the opportunities life offers them and have been born into a system whose morality, faith in God %26amp; themselves have failed. Those who believe they are entitled through others hard work and sacrifice and taxes to continue to live an irresponsible lifestyle provided by the government. Those who continue to bring children into the world with no thought of how they will support them, thus, teach them to believe the government and others owe them a living and grow up full of hate and resentment. When the government entitlements can't satisfy them they become dangerous and turn to crime. Unfortunately, the cycle continues as long as liberals can get votes to stay in Congress or high positions where they themselves become multimillionaires.

Greed knows no bounds and fosters corruption %26amp; inevitably misery.
That's a loaded question if ever there was one. Most poor people are born into circumstances in which they will not be able to survive due to poor nutrition and lack of clean water in many MANY places in this world. The industrialists and their accomplices have helped to ensure that that happens by displacing them through various means, either by force or otherwise. In the U.S. one only has to refer back to when Native Americans lived in harmony with the natural world until their culture was virtually wiped out and now many of them are poor and living on reservations.

The 'hard working' industrialists lack empathy and remorse. For those industrialists who have a any sort of conscience, they assuage the slightest amount of guilt they may be experiencing by funding charities and 'giving back to the community' (they sure as hell ought to). Generally, they take what they can when can and your ambitiousness and 'hard work' is what they want out of you in order for them to achieve more wealth. When your home ends up in foreclosure, your job outsourced, and your health insurance premiums go higher and higher and you are bankrupt, then you can thank those at the very top for helping you to get there. How's that for being 'hard working'?
Of course many successful people are intelligent and hard working.

This seems to break down, however, with the super wealthy - I've known a few and they are without exception dullards, people who grew up with money and used their family's contacts and/or Ivy League school contacts to get jobs they in no way deserved.

And had a shocking sense of entitlement and lack of ethics that allowed them to manipulate and exploit the system.
false. Rich people get maid service and poor people do their own work. Rich people live off the grease of the working class while they sit on their butts and have everyone else do everything for them. Most were born into wealth and had easy access to become successful while the poor person has to work their a$$es off and still only receive the crumbs from the rich man's table.
I think there is no correct answer to such a broad question. People are lazy, people are hardworking. Too many variables in a vas vantage point unique to each.

Those who do not put in the hard work for success, probably will not achieve it. But on the other hand, it's like this. I was plant superintendent for a cabinet shop years ago. We all worked very hard. Due to the effects of the economy, regardless of our hard work the company in the end did not succeed thus we didn't get rich.

Then you must weigh what wealth means to each individual. Many believe true wealth is not measured by the amount of money one has, but the number of people one can truly call a friend.

I know you and I have different political views, but that's okay. It's what America is about. I do think you are intelligent, with much to offer to the debate. Politics aside, if we were to meet in person, I am sure we would get along just fine.

I do wish you well, and a successful life what ever that means to you.
People who want something for nothing ARE lazy....Listen, if people were screaming for the opportunity to earn %26amp; buy what they wanted I would be all for it and support them at every turn...the fact that most people now want government to hand out items at the cost of ';rich people'; is disturbing. Yep...those types are lazy as f*** all.

People should befighting for their right to be rich themselves instead of fighting over scraggings from a rich man's table.
if someone says that poor people are lazy you should slap them. i dont know how it is where you are but here in Australia if you have no money or identification you cant get a home, if you dont have a home you cant bath and sleep comfortably, if you dont bath you cant get a job and without a job how can you get identification? and it doesnt help that half of the homeless are mentally ill.

so false
Actually, what peer-reviewed science shows is that most poor people are stupid and most wealthy people are intelligent. I'm not joking; the correlation is very strong. Look it up.

Why do libs seem to always insist that criminals are victims, lazy people are oppressed, and hard-working people are undeserving?
Not True, Meaning They are Poor Because they Work Hard But they don't earn enough Money and that's a Shame, and Rich People Some Just Act Wild and Spend Spend Spend Money they sure Didn't Earn Paris Hilton and Britney Spears' Ex K FED just a Couple of Examples.
It's probably a mixed answer--not either/OR.

It's pretty clear that lazy people are likely to be poor, and ambitious people have a better chance for success.

Wouldn't even a Lefty agree with that?
Probably not most. However, I don't know anyone who is poor and hard-working unless they made very bad decisions in their lifetime.
False, however you don't make any significant money by sitting on your rear, collecting welfare. Hard work equals more money through Capitalism, which is the only fair system.
false..

a persons financial status is not necessarily a direct reflection of their ability or desire to work.
Many rich people come from rich families and are given a leg up.So no the argument that poor people are lazier is not true on the whole.
Could not be further from the truth.
i would say poor people are either lazy or dumb or sick, but they aren't none of them.
false. But there are wealthy people that worked har to get their fortune.
FALSE.
